PRACTICE DESCRIPTION AND EXPERIENCE
Supplier/Manufacturer Representation. David has extensive experience representing the tool, die and special machine industry, with a special emphasis on the Michigan Special Tools Lien Act and the Michigan Mold Lien Act. He has successfully assisted his clients in numerous supplier disputes to both enforce their contractual rights and to ensure payment of amounts owed. He has also assisted his clients in numerous negotiation resolutions involving various commercial issues.
General Business/Transactional Experience. David has worked with numerous businesses in Michigan on matters relating to organizational structure and operations. He represents buyers and sellers in merger, acquisition and disposition transactions, both in distress and voluntary situations. He has also counseled business owners and executives on the use of corporations, limited liabilities, partnerships, limited partnerships and limited liability partnerships to achieve various succession, growth or reorganization objectives.
Business Litigation. When business disputes arise for David’s clients that can’t be resolved through negotiation or arbitration, litigation can be used as a way to remedy the situation. David’s approach is to keep his clients informed every step of the way, and to make them an integral part of the decision process. His ultimate goal is to protect his clients’ rights, interests and assets.
Labor & Employment. David helps employers find successful, constructive solutions to their most difficult employment problems, in and out of court. He works with his clients to develop sound strategies for anticipating and handling the endless variety of workplace legal issues – harassment, disabilities, discipline, overtime, policies and handbooks, employment agreements, and more.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES
David is currently a member of the Board of Directors at the Visser Family YMCA in Grandville, Michigan. He is also a member of the Grandville/Jenison Chamber of Commerce and its Leads Group, as well as a member of Sunnybrook Country Club. He and his wife, Carey, and their three children make their home in Grandville. David enjoys fly fishing, golfing and spending time with his family when not at the office.
